The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Lifestyle blogger Mollie Sheperdson shares a holiday look at the Lotte Palace in New York City

“There’ll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and caroling out in the snow…”. Seriously ya’ll, everything about the holiday season makes my heart happy. When I took a look at the photos from this shoot, this song was the first thing that came to mind. I mean, could this Christmas tree be any more picture perfect? You can find it at the Lotte Palace in NYC (if you’re a big Gossip Girl fan, you might recognize this spot!). Keep reading to get all the deets on this glam holiday look.

I knew I wanted to do something a little fancier than my norm for this look. What can I say, the tree inspired me! I found this fun little red lace romper and knew it was going to be perfect. I feel it’s also important to mention that this look was shot before it became unbearably cold in NYC. So don’t worry, while I definitely looked nuts, I wasn’t as cold as I could have been 😉

However, it is December, so I knew I wanted to add a coat to offset the short romper. I had initially been leaning towards this dove grey wool coat, but I’m so happy that I last minute switched to the chic tuxedo blazer. I think it gives it a little something extra, don’t ya think (name that movie!)? All kidding aside, this is probably one of my favorite shoots to date on A Stylish Side Project. This look would be perfect for any formal holiday party you have this season, just add tights for cooler climates.

Do you have any fun weekend plans? I spend Christmas with Connor’s family instead of going home, so my Mom is spending the weekend with us this weekend! I’m so excited to celebrate an early Christmas with her, and do some NYC exploring. After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!!
