The Best Coats for Warmer Winters

The month of January has really flown by hasn’t it? To be honest, I think a huge part of the reason why it’s gone by so quickly is because of the weather!! I can’t get over how mild this winter has been here in NYC. Today is a gorgeous and sunny day, with highs in the low 50s! Being from Wisconsin, I can’t wrap my mind around this kind of weather in January. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but the forecast is gorgeous as far as the eye can see. However, this brought me to realize something I was lacking in my wardrobe: A milder winter coat. What does that entail exactly? Keep reading to find out!

So I’ve of course got my big puffer coat for those freezing and snowy days, and then a few nicer wool coats for special occasions. The problem I’ve been running into is what to wear on these not so cold days. My puffer coat is too warm, but fall coats such as my Barbour aren’t quite warm enough. Today I’ve decided to round up my top 5 winter coats for warmer weather (think 40 degrees and up). If you live somewhere warm (Cali, Texas, etc), or are just having a mild winter like we are, than this post is for you!

  1. The Canada Goose ‘Camp’ Down Jacket (pictured above). While it’s rated for temps as low as 5 degrees, I’m never uncomfortable when I wear this out in warmer weather. It’s much sleeker than my Shelburne Parka, and is SUPER lightweight.
  2. The North Face ‘Thermoball’ Parka. I love the slim fit of this coat, and it comes in 7 fun colors.
  3. This Bernardo Packable Down Jacket. I’m still on the hunt for a winter coat that hits at the hips vs the knees, and I’m loving the dusty rose color of this one! Plus it’s on serious sale right now.
  4. This Topshop Jacquard Satin Puffer. I’m swooning over the gorgeous icy blue hue, and the jacquard fabric feels really special. It hardly even looks a puffer coat!
  5. The Moncler ‘Lans’ Down Jacket. I love the double patch pockets on the front, and the navy and light pink colors are gorgeous.

I hope you guys enjoyed this round up! What kind of weather have you been having where you live this winter? I would love to hear about it!
