Happy Monday guys, how was your weekend?! Mine consisted of sleeping off my jet lag (I’m FINALLY back to normal), catching up on all the emails I missed during vacation, and welcoming Connor back home! I’m not gonna lie… I got pretty used to having the apartment all to myself the past 3 weeks. There wasn’t any junk food in sight, no one to convince me to hit snooze for my 6am SoulCycle class, and most importantly – I could watch all the Gilmore Girls my little heart desired. I definitely lived my best bachelorette life the past few weeks, but it feels so good to have Connor back home. Turns out I did miss him a little 😉 Plus he brought back tons of my favorite chocolates that you can’t get in the US – one of the many things I loved about London. Speaking of London, today I’m sharing my second post from my trip!
We shot this look at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. This historic building is absolutely stunning, and the unique black and white checkered floors make for some awesome photography. I recommend getting there in the morning though – we shot around 3pm and it was really crowded. We ended up shooting at the smaller, back section of the Cathedral. Still beautiful, but not nearly as grand as the front entrance.
We actually chose this location pretty last minute, as we had planned to shoot at Big Ben for this outfit. However, the day I flew out to London was the same day as the Westminster Bridge terror attack. Victoria and I both felt that due to the recent events it would be best to keep clear of the area. The following Monday, Connor and I did make a visit to the site of the attack to pay our respects. London is an amazing community and it was so touching to see the outpour of support, I had goosebumps the entire time we were there. It was an experience I will never forget. I’ve had several people ask me if I felt safe while I was in London, and especially in Paris, and the answer is YES. If you’ve had second thoughts about traveling to these amazing cities due to recent events – don’t. You can’t live your life in fear of what could happen, otherwise you’ll miss out on all the amazing things there are to experience in this world.
On a lighter note, let’s chat about my outfit! This white blouse is one of my favorite pieces that I packed. The bell sleeves and high-low hem are such a fun twist on a classic white button up. It can easily be dressed up or down, which makes it perfect for traveling. I wore it here with relaxed boyfriend jeans and pops of pink – making it the perfect look for window shopping or brunch. I was surprised at how much I ended up wearing these pink flats. I got them right before I left, so they were brand new flats. Usually flats need a few wears before they’re comfy, but these were so comfortable right out of the box! I walked around in them all day on Friday with no issues – I think I need to pick up the nude pair as well.
Have a fabulous Monday, I hope your week is off to a great start!
