Hi friends, happy Monday! Today on the blog I’m excited to share some pics from my trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last month.
If you ever find yourself in NYC during the spring, I HIGHLY recommend making the trip over to Brooklyn to check out these stunning gardens. I had never been before, so when my mom suggested we go during her trip last month, I jumped at the idea. Little did we know that Tuesdays were free admission days, so we got to walk right in – no waiting in line to grab tickets! We got there around 10am and it was already pretty busy with tourists and locals photographing the beautiful cherry blossoms. If you want to get some shots sans other people, you should plan on arriving when it opens at 8am.
We went mid-April, so there were a few stunning cherry blossom trees, but most of them hadn’t bloomed yet. We asked someone who worked at the gardens when the best time for cherry blossoms is, and she said the last week in April – first week of May. This is when they have their annual Sakura festival, and the “Cherry Esplanade” as they call it, is lined with more cherry blossom trees than you can even imagine! Next year I want to go back during this time and see all the trees in full bloom. I might even re-wear this outfit, because how perfect is this cherry blossom midi dress for a trip to the botanical gardens?! As soon as my mom made the suggestion, I already knew this is what I would wear. It’s SO comfy, and less than $70!
I hope everyone has a fabulous start to their week!
